Overview & Objectives

This project analyzes HR employee data using Power BI. It helps users understand employee attrition, workforce distribution, salary patterns, job roles, business travel behavior, satisfaction scores, and demographic trends. The dashboard includes three report pages. The first page focuses on overall HR KPIs, attrition by role, gender, age group, training history, and marital status. The second page analyzes satisfaction scores, monthly income, business travel, department attrition, and waterfall impact. The third page focuses on workforce distribution, salary slabs, business travel, education fields, and attrition trends.

Build a clear Power BI dashboard that helps HR teams explore employee attrition, salary patterns, satisfaction scores, and workforce trends.

The Business Problem

HR data can be difficult to understand when employee information, salary, attrition, satisfaction, department, education field, and travel behavior are analyzed separately. The business needed one clear dashboard to understand why employees leave, which roles are affected, and how salary, travel, and satisfaction relate to attrition.
Methodology

My Approach

  • 1I cleaned and prepared the HR employee dataset.
  • 2I created Power BI measures for attrition rate, employee count, average age, average salary, hourly rate, daily rate, and working years.
  • 3I designed dashboard pages for HR overview, satisfaction and income analysis, and workforce distribution.
  • 4I added visual comparisons by job role, gender, department, age group, marital status, education field, salary slab, and business travel.

Data Preparation

Cleaned and prepared the HR employee dataset for analysis.

Data Modeling

Created the Power BI data model for employees, departments, job roles, salary, education, satisfaction, and business travel.

DAX Development

Built measures for total employees, attrition rate, average age, average salary, daily rate, hourly rate, and working years.

Dashboard Design

Designed HR overview, satisfaction and income analysis, and workforce distribution pages.

Attrition Analysis

Created visuals to analyze attrition by job role, gender, department, age group, marital status, education field, and travel history.

Final Formatting

Formatted KPI cards, bar charts, line charts, donut charts, pie charts, gauges, scatter plots, and waterfall visuals for clear HR reporting.
